ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Marilyn Darlyn Wise, 83, passed away at Evelyn’s Hospice House, in St Louis, Missouri, on March 11, 2024, following a rapid onset of dementia. A lifelong resident of St. Joseph, she and her brother were raised in a four generation female household. Marilyn graduated from Benton High School in 1958.

She married Raymond Parker in 1959 and they had two children, Debbie and Brian. Marilyn retired from Quaker Oats, in St. Joseph, after 30 years in the accounting department, where she met her second husband, Larry Mick, who proceeded her in death in 1978. In 1983 she married Bobby Wise, enjoying 34 years together. She stood by his side and cared for him during a liver transplant and brief illness before he passed in 2017. Marilyn was active in the Francis Street Methodist Church until her illness in the spring of 2023.

In addition to her husbands, she is proceeded in death by her parents, Marion and John Hoselton; and stepson, Eddie Wise, all formerly of St Joseph.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Debra Parker Oliver, of Olathe, Kansas; and Brian Parker of Chino, California; as well as four stepchildren, Bobby Wise of Filmore, Missouri, Leslye and Tony Wise, St Joseph, and Teddy Wise, of Kansas City; brothers, Ron Scholtz and John Hoselton; and her endearing friend, Garold Crail, of St Joseph. She was a proud grandmother of five and great- grandmother of five.

Services will be Monday, March 18, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Francis Street Methodist Church, 110 N. 12th Street, St. Joseph. As published in the St. Joseph News-Press.
