Larry “Scott” Goodwin, 58, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, March 1, 2024, at Mosaic Life Care surrounded by loved ones. He was born Nov. 15, 1965, in St. Joseph. Scott graduated from Benton High School. He worked for the City of St. Joseph for 29 years. He enjoyed spending time outside, doing yard work, mushroom hunting, and watching John Wayne movies. Most of all, Scott loved spending time with his six grandchildren. He was also an ordained minister and presided over his son’s wedding.

Scott was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Frank and Cecelia Goodwin; maternal grandparents, Paul and Clara Deloris Lewis; aunts, Nancy Lechti and Paula Gaberial; and his best friend, Fred Langford.

He is survived by his two greatest gifts, his daughter, Megan (Andrew) Molloy, Kansas City, Missouri, and son, Miles (Leiren) Goodwin, Savannah, Missouri; granddaughters, Cecilia, Ella, Briar, Abyl and Charlie; grandson, Benson; father, Larry Frank Goodwin; mother, Gloria (Jim) Maleta; brother, Casey Goodwin; sisters, Debbie (Ron) Shryock and Tammie (Jay) Jacobs; uncle, Bob (Becci) Goodwin; and aunt, Nancy (Ben) Miller. Along with many cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday to Celebrate Scott’s life at the Rupp Funeral Home. He will be cremated under the care of the Rupp Funeral Home.
