TEMPLE, Texas, – Rosemary Asmussen, age 91, of Temple, Texas formerly of St. Joseph, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at her home in Temple. She was born in St. Joseph, the daughter of Anthony “Tony” and Regina (Barrett) Hochenauer.

A memorial service in St. Joseph will be held at a later date.

Rosemary worked for 25 years for Quaker Oats in St. Joseph, retiring in 1995. Following retirement, she and her husband traveled the US, with a highlight being a trip to Alaska to visit her daughter and son-in-law. She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Temple, and enjoyed writing poetry, having published three poetry books.

She is survived by her daughter, Melanie Green and husband Terry Green, of Morgan’s Point Resort; and her dear dog, Pebbles.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Asmussen; daughter, Stacie Oxford; and her parents, Regina and Dorsey Bell, and Tony Hochenauer.
