Ellrick, Lawrence E. 1976-2024 Hamilton, Mo.

HAMILTON, Mo. – Lawrence Edward Ellrick, 47, passed away on Feb. 24, 2024, after a long battle with Huntington’s disease.

He was born on July 22, 1976, to Daniel and Michele (Tatro) Ellrick, in Millington, Tennessee.

After working as a cook in Fredericksburg, Virginia, Larry joined the Army and served as a mechanic at U.S. bases and in Germany, as well as during two combat tours in Iraq.

Larry loved music, poetry, and good food. He was baptized in Okinawa, Japan, while his father was stationed there. During his last years, he returned to and deepened his faith in Jesus, embracing the attitude of Philippians 1:21, “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”

Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Michele Renee (Tatro) Kyle.

Survivors include: his father, Daniel Ellrick, and his step-mother, Karen Ellrick, Osaka, Japan; three children, Kollin Ellrick-Orr, Fredricksburg, Virginia, Leah Taylor, Spotsylvania, Virginia, and Jimmy Kupfer, Schweinfurt, Germany; two brothers: Eric Sample and David Kyle, St. Joseph.

Graveside Service: 3 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2024, at Harlan Cemetery, Cameron, Missouri.
