Henry E. Sollars, 98, St. Joseph, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2024.
He was born on March 24, 1925, to John William Sr. and Viola (Parker) Sollars, in St. Joseph.
On Sept. 13, 1943, he married Darlene June VanFosson. She preceded him in death.
Henry spent over 60 years working as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Local #101 Union for over 70 years.
Henry enjoyed going fishing with his wife and their grandsons, and one of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Darlene; brothers, John, Robert, Herbert and Raymond Sollars; and sister, Viola Ellison.
Survivors include his son, Mike (Janet) Sollars; grandsons, Michael (Carolynn) Sollars and Jason (Kelli) Sollars; step-grandsons, Chad (Maggie) Winder and Cory (Mitzi) Winder; great-grandchildren, Jacob (Ashley), Kelsey, Paige, and Wren Sollars; step-great-grandchildren, Alex, Brody (Jaycee), Claire, Jaden, and Landon Winder; great-great-grandchildren, Bayler Sollars, Henry Michael Sollars and Wrenly Winder; brother, Joseph Sollars; and sister, Susie (Jerry) Gentry.
