CAMERON, Mo – Jamie “Jim” Dale Holbrook, 85, Cameron, Missouri, formerly of Hamilton, Missouri, and San Jose, California, passed away on Feb. 20, 2024, in St. Joseph. He moved to Hamilton in 2010 from California.
Jim was born on May 31, 1938, in Hamilton, to Virgil S. and Velma L. (Maginness) Holbrook. He graduated from the Penney High School, in Hamilton, in 1956, and attended college at Platte Business College, in St. Joseph, and Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg, Missouri. He served his country honorably in Alaska in the Air Force from 1960-1964.
He worked for the United Tech accounting department and also in security for the San Jose Unified School District. He joined the Christian Community Church of Christ in San Jose.
Preceding Jim in death were his parents; his sister, Mary Louise Holbrook Mackie; and his brother-in-law, David C. Mackie.
Survivors include his nephews, Kirk (Robin) Mackie, Conroe, Texas, and Scott (Kimberly) Mackie, Santa Clarita, California; great-nephews, Brent, Ryan and Matthew Mackie; and several cousins.
A Celebration of Life Service: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the Hamilton Methodist Church Sanctuary.
Interment will follow the service at Highland Cemetery, Hamilton, with full military honors.
