Marcie Jo Palmer, 59, of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024, at Mosaic Life Care, in St. Joseph. She was born May 9, 1964, in St. Joseph, daughter of Mary and Merrill Palmer. She attended Lafayette High School.

Marcie worked many years as an in-home caregiver. She loved going to the casino and playing Bingo. Her greatest joy was spending time with her kids and grandkids.

Marcie was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lisa Jagodzinski-Palmer; and granddaughter, Destiny.

Survivors include her companion of 44 years, Charles Ballard, of the home; children, Brandi (David) Perry, Brad (Megan) Palmer, Nicki (Javier) Garcia-Martinez, all of St. Joseph; siblings, Merrill Palmer Jr., of St. Joseph, Melanie (Jesse) Bowman, of Clarksdale, Missouri, Christopher Palmer, of Fairfax, Missouri, Jamie Palmer (Bryan Martin), of Fairfax; grandchildren, Bayler, Zach, Cody, Erika, Boogie, Noah, Tyler, Alex, Harper, Ranezmae, Dameon and Izzy; three great-grandsons, Kayton, Santos Ray, and Oliver Ryder and expecting a great-granddaughter soon.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19, 2024, at the Rupp Funeral Home, with David Mejia officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 18, at Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at Bellemont Cemetery, Wathena, Kansas.
