Francis “Frenchie” French, 94, St. Joseph, passed away Friday, Feb. 2, 2024,at his home.

He was born May 5, 1929, in Spickard, Missouri, to Richard and Susie (Croy) French. They preceded him in death.

Frenchie married Lois Blackburn on Jan. 8, 1950. She preceded him in death.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the service, he worked at Seitz (Swift) packing house for 45 years.

Frenchie was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 65 years, which included a term as grand master.

He was also preceded in death by seven brothers; one sister; and a great-granddaughter, Evee Kiefer.

Additional survivors include daughters, Jean Ann Bell, Jo Ann Johnson, and Debby French; son, Kevin French (Erin); grandchildren, Brian Brown (Jennifer), Gina Hoffman (Jeremy), Cody Harless, Jamie Harless, Aaron Bell, KyAnn Smith (Billy), Lucas Kiefer, Jake Kiefer (Abby), Madison French, and Presli French; 11 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and lifelong friends, Ron and Belva Carson, Billy and Melissa Jones and their son, Carson.

Natural Farewell under the direction of Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
