STOVER, Mo. – Steve McQueen, age 79, of Stover, Missouri, passed away Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024, at the Good Shepherd Care Center, in Versailles, Missouri.

He was born June 24, 1944, the son of Hensley C. and Virginia (Fibert) McQueen, in St. Joseph.

He was a hard worker. He worked as an officer for the sheriff’s department and later became an electrician teacher. After retirement he ran a marina south of Stover in Buffalo Cove.

He liked to hunt, fish, and go mushroom hunting. He had his pilot’s license. His greatest enjoyment was reading, even after going blind. He would have people read to him.

He is survived by his brother, James McQueen Sr., of St. Joseph, and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gerald and Joseph McQueen.

In keeping with his wishes, he was cremated. As published in the St. Joseph News-Press.
