Sharron W. Shifflett 1937-2024 St. Joseph, Mo.

Sharron Wyvonne Shifflett, 86, of St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, in a Gower, Missouri health care center. She was born May 23, 1937, in Polo, Missouri, daughter of the late Clovevilla and Estel Swigart. She graduated from Calhoun High School and was a homemaker. She enjoyed crafts, quilting, sewing, bowling, spending with her children and grandchildren and working at her church, the Faith United Baptist Church.

Sharron was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl “Gene” Eugene Shifflett; son, Jay Dean Shifflett; son-in-law, Mike Zirkle; brother, Estel “Junior” Swigart; and grandson, Jay Dean Shifflett II.

Survivors include daughter, Shirley (Dianna) Shifflett, DesMoines, Iowa; son, Dennis (Maria) Shifflett, St. Joseph; and daughter, Zena (David) Weese, St. Joseph; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Shifflett; sister-in-law, Georgina Swigart; 20 grandchildren; 34 great- grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Funeral services 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024, at the Faith United Baptist Church, St. Joseph. The Interment will be at the Calhoun Cemetery, Calhoun, Missouri.

Memorials are requested to the Gower Convalescent Center.
