Shane Allen Smith, 47, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024, in St. Joseph. He was born Aug. 29, 1976, in St. Joseph, son of Olga and Ron Smith. He graduated from Benton High School, class of 1995, and worked as a plumber for St. Joseph Plumbing. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Shane is survived by his mother, Olga Smith, St. Joseph; father, Ron Smith, Amazonia, Missouri; son, Aidan (Whitney) Smith; daughters, Ashlynn and Kortlynn Smith, of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Cooper and Bellamy; brother, Justin (Heather) Smith; nephews, Chance and Owen; nieces, Sydney and Lila; paternal grandmother, Phyllis (Tom) Smith; as well several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family will receive friends to celebrate Shane’s life from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Rupp Funeral Home.
