Ronald “Ron” Ray Parker, 86, of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024. He was born Jan. 3, 1938, in St. Joseph, son of the late Grace and Junior Parker. He retired from Dean Machinery as a Heavy Machine Field Mechanic after 48 years of service. He enjoyed making beer and wine, hunting, cooking, gardening, reading his many bibles and other books, he also learned how to fly an airplane, and he loved animals and children. He was a member of the former Carnegie Baptist Church.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phyllis Eileen Parker; brothers, Sonny, Leroy “Babe”, Edgar, Ted, and John Parker; sisters, Betty, Shirley and Erma.

Survivors include son, Blaine (Gerry) Parker, Hampton, Georgia; daughters, Rhonda Rae Edwards, St. Joseph, and Kelly Ann (Randy) Bohot, De Kalb, Missouri; grandchildren; Blaine Jr., Rachel, Kristi, Kerri, Jessica, Jacob, Amber, Tyler, Lacy and Amanda; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jimmy Parker; three sisters, Ruth, Stella and Linda; as well as numerous, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Funeral services and public live stream; 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, at the Rupp Funeral Home, Pastor Andy Campbell officiating. The Interment will be at the Bethel Cemetery DeKalb.

Memorials are requested to the friends of the Animal Shelter.
