Albrecht-Kemper spotlighting printmaking exhibit

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- A new exhibit is on display at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art.
"Screen, Block, Plate, & Stone: Printmaking" will be on display through Sunday, May 4, at the museum at 2818 Frederick Ave. The exhibit traces the history of printmaking and showcases works by celebrated artists.
Included are prints by Albrecht Dürer, Rembrandt van Rijn, Francisco Goya, Édouard Manet, George Catlin, George Caleb Bingham, James McNeill Whistler and Thomas Hart Benton.
"While technical mastery is essential, printmaking has long served as a powerful vehicle for artistic expression," said Megan Benitz, registrar and exhibitions manager at the Albrecht-Kemper. "'Screen, Block, Plate, & Stone' not only highlights the craftsmanship of printmakers across centuries but also invites visitors to appreciate how artists have used printmaking to capture the world around them, challenge norms, and create lasting visual legacies."
Museum admission for non-members is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $7 for students. Museum members and children under age 6 are free.
