The Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted Herzog to resurface a section of I-29.

A resurfacing project on Interstate 29 north of St. Joseph will begin in March.

The Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted with Herzog for the work on the interstate stretching from U.S. Route 59 in Holt County to Business 71 just north of St. Joseph.

Resurfacing efforts are set to begin on Wednesday, March 5, and will continue until July.

During construction, I-29 will be narrowed to one lane, beginning in the southbound passing lane, and will later switch to the northbound lanes.

Crews will remove and then replace the pavement in two-mile sections. Once paving is complete on the roadway, crews will repave the ramps along the portion of the interstate.

Crews will work Monday through Saturday during daylight hours.

Drivers can sign up for project updates via text or email, by visiting www.modot.org/northwest or by calling the 24/7 line at 888-ASK-MODOT (275-6636).
