Officials investigating after dead puppies found in suitcase

File | News-Press NOW

The St. Joseph Animal Control and Rescue is investigating the suitcase of dead puppies found last week at a local convenience store.

Senior Animal Control Officer Steve Norman confirmed that three dead puppies were found in a suitcase behind Speedy's convenience store, located at 2728 Messanie St. on Friday, Feb. 7.

"We're unsure how long they were there before someone called," Senior Officer Norman said. "We have a theory that based on the size of the puppies they may have died from Parvo."

Officer Norman added that Animal Control is actively investigating the incident and has requested the surveillance footage from Speedy's.
