St. Joseph couple pardoned following signed executive orders

A St. Joseph couple is benefitting from one of President Donald Trump’s first actions in his new term.
Trump’s decision on Monday to pardon, commute the prison sentences of and dismiss pending cases against those charged in the Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot including Steven and Kimberly Dragoo. In total, more than 1,200 people were convicted of Jan. 6 crimes.
The couple pleaded guilty in August 2023 to a misdemeanor charge each of picketing, parading and demonstrating in the U.S. Capitol. Both were sentenced to 14 days in jail last year.
The Dragoos have not responded to News-Press NOW’s request for comment on the action. However, on Sunday one day ahead of Trump’s inauguration, Kimberly Dragoo took to Facebook to express her excitement, writing, “I would so love to be rocking in Washington D.C. this weekend with my Trump loving people. Can’t wait for Monday and my Presidential pardon.”

Dragoo also posted on Tuesday evening, saying, "I survived four years of relentless, lawless attacks, so don't underestimate me or where I stand when it comes to defending our country and right versus wrong."
