No. 6: "25 Miles to Normal"

Hollywood came to St. Joseph in 2024, with not one but two movies filming locally.

The cast and crew of a comedy film made themselves at home in June in St. Joseph. The movie “25 Miles to Normal” written and directed by Josh Brandon began filming in the area this summer after shooting scenes in Kansas City. Several local venues, including Fredrick Inn and the American Electric Lofts, provided shooting locations.

In 2024, more films began capitalizing on the Missouri Film Tax Credit, shooting features, thrillers and even ”A Chrismystery.”

Filmmakers from that holiday movie announced that they would be spending some time shooting in both Buchanan and Andrew counties in December. Locations including Savannah’s City Hall became backdrops for “A Chrismystery.” Residents also were given roles behind the scenes and in front of the cameras.

“25 Miles to Normal” is currently in post-production, and “A Chrismystery” just wrapped filming. Release dates for the movies have not been announced.
