A new leader will be taking the reins of the St. Joseph Community Alliance this month.
Tom Brand will start as director on July 29. He replaces Tama Wagner, who served for five years and left in April.
Brand attended the University of Missouri and previously served as the executive director of the National Association of Farm Broadcasting for 12 years, the KFEQ farm director of Eagle Communications for 15 years and the camp director for Camp Quality of Northwest Missouri for two years.
“I’ve been a St. Joseph resident for more than half of my life,” Brand said in a news release. “I’m excited about the community today and I’m looking forward to the possibilities of what’s to come in the future.”
The Community Alliance Board expressed excitement for Brand to continue to help further St. Joseph and guide the Imagine St. Joseph 2040 plan.
The Community Alliance partners with the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce, City of St. Joseph, Buchanan County, St. Joseph School District, St. Joseph Convention and Visitors Bureau, Mosaic Life Care, Missouri Western State University, the United Way of Greater St. Joseph and the 139th Airlift Wing of the Missouri Air National Guard.
