ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- A local rehabilitation facility has a new leader.

Debbie Hoffman is now chief executive officer of ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Elwood-St. Joseph. The 30-bed facility provides rehabilitative care to people recovering from injuries, illnesses or medically-complex conditions.

Hoffman, who is a registered nurse, has more than 30 years of healthcare experience, including leadership positions at acute care hospitals in Kansas and Missouri. She most recently was director of nursing operations at ClearSky.

“Because I began my career in nursing, quality patient care and safety have always been my priorities,” Hoffman said. “I’m passionate about helping patients recover fully so they can regain independence and quality of life. I’m looking forward to leading the team at ClearSky Elwood-St. Joseph as we continue to advance patient care, foster innovation, and ensure the hospital’s long-term organizational success.”

Hoffman became a licensed practical nurse after attending Northwest Technical School in Maryville, Missouri, and then earned an associate’s degree in nursing from Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa., and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Maryville University, St. Louis. She also has a master’s degree in management and leadership from Webster University in St. Louis.
