One child was taken to the hospital and another suffered minor injuries after a driver hit them while on their bike in St. Joseph.

The St. Joseph Police Department told News-Press NOW that an 11-year-old and a 9-year-old were riding a bike on Felix Street, one on the seat and one on the rear pegs, when they rolled through a stop sign.

A driver, who was traveling at the speed limit on North 29th Street, struck the bike after it ran through the stop sign, knocking the children off of it.

One child was taken to the hospital with a possible broken leg, and the other suffered bruising.
