Police are investigating after a person was shot Wednesday afternoon near North 16th Street and Grand Avenue.

The shooting took place around 2 p.m. St. Joseph Police Department officers said the victim was taken to Mosaic Life Care and is not in critical condition. Police said the suspect fled in a vehicle.

Several shell casings were present at the scene, which was taped off.
