Maryville fire leaves one man dead

A man is dead and the Missouri State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating after an early morning fire Monday in Maryville, Missouri.

Crews from the Maryville Fire Department arrived shortly after 4 a.m. to a home on Chick Avenue after a passerby reported seeing flames coming from the home, officials said. A woman confirmed to firefighters that her husband was trapped inside a bedroom.

While firefighters were able to locate the man and get him out of the home, he was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The Missouri State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire. Anyone with information about the fire or security camera footage that may have captured the incident is asked to contact Maryville Fire Chief Jace Pine at 660-562-3209.
