St. Joseph police responded to a crash near the 1400 block of Noyes Boulevard Monday afternoon after a driver struck a child riding his e-bike.

According to the St. Joseph Police Department, around 3 p.m. on Monday, a boy was riding his bike south on North Noyes down the sidewalk when a vehicle pulling out of a driveway alley struck him.

“It was just a minor crash caused by a blind spot,” said officer Josiah Lowry. “He was coming down the hill and she was coming up the alley, which sits at an angle so the driver couldn’t see him and he couldn’t see her.”

Buchanan County EMS crews reported to the scene but Lowry said the juvenile was upright and talking and was not transported to the hospital. The child suffered only minor injuries.
