St. Joseph is gearing up to honor military veterans of the armed forces with its annual parade route set for Monday morning.

The 2024 Veterans Day parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 11. The route begins at 10th and Francis streets, proceeding west on Francis to Eighth Street, north to Jules and back to Frederick before circling City Hall to end on Francis at 10th Street.

Mayor John Josendale is looking forward to helping with the event and paying tribute to those who have dedicated their lives to serving and protecting the U.S. The holiday parade is especially meaningful for him as his son and multiple family members have all served.

“I’ve grown up through the time where the country didn’t recognize veterans like they do now. And it means a lot to me to be able to thank them … they put their life on the line one way or the other to help support us,” he said.
