Phil Welch Stadium welcomes all-new video scoreboard

Mustangs fans heading to the diamond this season will see an all-new piece of hardware overlooking historic Phil Welch Stadium.
Crews with Yellow Frog Graphics installed the new and much-anticipated video scoreboard at the stadium on Thursday.
“We’re modernizing the stadium but you still get that classic feel, it’s a beautiful place to be,” Mustangs owner Ky Turner said. “We’re really appreciative of the community of St. Joe and everyone who has played a part in this.”
With the help of the 1939 club, the George Bode Benevolent Trust Fund and a variety of community donations, the team was able to raise $65,000 to pair with $65,000 in Capital Improvements and Parks Tax funds.
With opening day set for Saturday, May 31, Turner called it the new jewel of the historic stadium, one that he expects will significantly upgrade the fan/player experience this season and beyond.
“It’s gonna blow the player and the guest experience off the charts. Players, stats, standings, things like that, they’re going to be a lot easier to see,” Turner said. “But then the stuff that we can do ... celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, Hall of Fame ceremonies ... it just allows us to do it and in a bigger way.”
