A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in a three-vehicle crash on the North Belt Highway on Thursday afternoon.
The St. Joseph Police Department responded to the crash involving two cars and a motorcycle at North Belt Highway and Beck Road a little after 1 p.m..
“The motorcyclist had serious injuries but was conscious when we got here,” Sgt. James Tonn said. “(They were) transported by EMS, and I’m not sure how he’s doing now.”
The accident also caused damage to three vehicles at the nearby Victory GMC dealership, including a van with a cratered windshield.
“That was actually the driver of the motorcycle,” Tonn said.
Tonn said there will be a lengthy investigation as officers continued to take pictures and interview witnesses into Thursday afternoon.
“There will be a lot of stuff to do behind the scenes,” he said.
