Chiefs fans credit defense team for trip to New Orleans Super Bowl LIX

The nation is just a few weeks away from the Super Bowl LIX game and local fans are sharing their thoughts on which defensive player will play a big role in getting a win this year.

While Mahomes and Kelce are often the fan favorites for many, some fans believe the talent of other Chiefs players will gain Kansas City a victory at Super Bowl LIX.

I think the defense has taken them through the whole season,” said St. Joseph resident — Joe Williams. “When they’re down on it always comes down to the defense.”

Williams credits defensive tackle Chris Jones as one of the star players on the Kansas City Chiefs, Williams claims that Jones’ elite ability is what helps the entire defense.

If Chiefs games keep the Red Kingdom on edge, it’s probably best to tune in during the fourth quarter.

“You don’t need to watch until the fourth quarter starts to creep up,” Williams said. “They hey lose for three quarters there we go, defense comes around to help them win.”

The Chiefs defense has been ranked among the best in the league this season and routinely makes game-changing plays in the biggest moments when Kansas City needs the unit the most.

Leaving Jones with lots of expectations to fill during the Super Bowl LIX game.

“Jones is one of my favorites,” said local fan — Rick Willis. “He’s a big boy and a good player. We’re planning on partying for him right in Kansas City on Super Bowl night.”

A last-minute play from the Chiefs offense or defense, either way, fans are optimistic that the Chiefs will come out on top.
