Meierhoffer Funeral Home and Crematory hosted its 33rd Annual Holiday Remembrance Ceremony on Thursday evening.

The long-standing event has become a tradition for families who have experienced a loss, not just in the past year, but at any time.

“You know, my father actually started the Holiday Remembrance Ceremony,” said Todd Meierhoffer, president of Meierhoffer Funeral Home and Crematory. “In the process…he wanted to make certain that the families, not only that we have served, but those families that have lost loved ones in our area, had an opportunity to come together to remember their loved ones.”

Several members of the community attended the event, and also contributed ornaments, photos and memorial folders to hang on the ‘Tree of Remembrance’ in honor of their loved ones.

“I think at the end of the day, it’s important to continue to make memories, be with your families and remember that times we have with those that we loved and just continuing to make new memories, especially as generations continue to grow,” said Meierhoffer.

Meierhoffer also said anyone is invited to make their mark on the ‘Tree of Rememberance’, by bringing in photos, ornaments of reminders of loved ones, at any time throughout the holiday season.
