A Kansas City Chiefs superfan known as “Chiefsaholic” was sentenced to 17 and a half years in federal prison after 11 robberies and attempted robberies over the course of a year.

Xavier Babudar, 30, pleaded guilty in February to three charges — bank robbery, money laundering and transporting stolen property across state lines — relating to a string of robberies at banks and credit unions across seven states.

A release from the U.S. Attorney’s Offuce said Babudar stole nearly $850,000 throughout his robberies and showed bank employees what appeared to be a gun.

Babudar was initially arrested in December 2022, but he removed his ankle monitor and evaded police until his arrest in July 2023. He admitted to robbing two additional banks while on the run from police.

U.S. District Judge Howard F. Sachs sentenced Babudar Thursday to the 17-plus years without parole. He was also ordered to pay more than $500,000 in restitution.
