A woman sustained minor injuries after crashing into a tree near 18th and Holman Streets Sunday afternoon.

The driver was going north on Holman Street when the St. Joseph Police Department attempted to pull her over for a registration violation. Sergeant Brian McClintick confirmed the driver attempted to evade the traffic stop because she was aware of an active warrant against her.

The driver attempted to flee, but lost control on the bridge on Holman Street, swerved off the street and collided with a tree. She was not wearing a seatbelt and was taken to Mosaic Life Care by ambulance for minor injuries.
