Noyes Home hosts Porch Party fundraiser

By Kirsten Stokes
Community members gathered for some fun at the Noyes Home on Friday, with food trucks, a balloon artist and plenty of other fun.
The Porch Party, which was free and open to the public, raised money for the Noyes Home and its mission to help kids and families at risk.
“Edutainers” Will Stuck and Dino O’Dell helped bring the fun with performances, and Scout Troop 801 sold sodas and snacks.
Executive Director Chelsea Howlett said the event is for community engagement and for people to know the initiative of Noyes Home and what they do to assist homeless kids and teens in the St. Joseph community.
“So it’s important that the next generation and young families are coming in and learning about how they can support them, whether that be through in-kind gifts or our champion of Hope monthly donor program. We’re hoping to educate our guests here tonight about how they can help support us at whatever dollar amount that they are comfortable giving on an ongoing basis,” Howlett said.
