The YWCA is raising funds and accepting reservations for its annual event to honor impactful women in the community.

The 23rd annual Women of Excellence Awards Luncheon, themed S.E.T for Success: Support, Engage, Thrive, will take place at 11:30 a.m. on June 6 at the Civic Arena. The event will feature guest speaker Kelly Evans, and will spotlight testimonials from survivors of domestic violence and award two women with the main lifetime awards.

“We are supporting those women who come to us and engaging them in services, engaging them in planning for their future, and then watching them thrive as they move forward,” said Danielle Brown, executive director of the YWCA.

The Lifetime Achievement in Volunteerism award with be presented to Loes Hedge, and the Lifetime Achievement in the Workplace will be presented to to Jean Brown.

The organization’s fundraising goal this year is $150,000.

Tables can be purchased at $500 each, and Brown said that includes lunch and the event itself. All proceeds from the event will go toward the YWCA domestic violence shelter. Those interested can purchase tickets at https://woestjoe.swell.gives/ or call the YWCA at (816) 232-4481.
