Gov. Mike Parson visited several St. Joseph sites Tuesday to engage with community members and sign copies of his newly released commemorative biography.

Parson made stops at various locations around town, including the St. Joseph Public Library, Rosecrans Memorial Airport, BMS Logistics and Missouri Western State University.

“We’re just trying to see what some of the towns are doing and what things they need and how we can help them through the economy, through some of the programs we have, through infrastructure and workforce development,” Parson said.

His biography, titled “No Turnin’ Back,” was displayed at the St. Joseph Public Library for the community to purchase for $30 and for Parson to sign. Parson said his book offers valuable tips for an ordinary American seeking to succeed in life.

“Just be who you are,” Parson said. “I mean, I never dreamed I’d ever be the governor of the state of Missouri. It talks about this in the book, about my humble beginnings that we started with me and my family … you got to work hard. Nobody’s going to give you anything and you got to excel at whatever you do.”
