Missouri representatives slam Hunter Biden’s pardon

In the wake of President Joe Biden’s Sunday announcement that he had pardoned his son, Hunter, Missouri and Kansas representatives were quick to criticize the move.
Hunter Biden was convicted of an illegal purchase of a firearm and tax evasion. He was due to be sentenced on Dec. 22 and could have faced prison time of up to 17 years on the tax charges and 25 years on the gun charge.
The move comes after President Biden repeatedly told media outlets that he would not pardon his son.
Missouri Senator Josh Hawley called the Biden administration “lawless.”
Hawley posted on X: “Never forget: while Hunter was selling access to “the big guy,” Joe Biden’s administration sent SWAT teams to the homes of pro-lifers; recruited spies in Catholic parishes; treated parents as domestic terrorists; and prosecuted Trump. The most lawless administration in history.”
Meanwhile Missouri 6th District Congressman Sam Graves, of Tarkio, called Hunter Biden’s pardon “shameful” in a social media post.
“Joe Biden’s pardon of Hunter Biden is egregious and shameful. He repeatedly lied about whether he would pardon him and has now absolved him of any potential federal crime he may have committed since 2014. This is the height of corruption!”
In Kansas, Senator Roger Marshall accused President Biden of covering up for his family’s crimes.
“I’ve always said watch what Joe Biden does and not what he says,” Marshall posted on Instagram.
He continued, “Sweeping pardons to protect the Biden Crime Family from 11 years of federal crimes Hunter committed once again undermines any ounce of integrity Joe Biden had left.”
