The lights will turn on Friday, Nov. 29, at two local parks, marking the opening of a St. Joseph Christmas tradition.

Community members can join Mayor John Josendale and the city’s parks department for the annual lighting ceremonies for Krug Park’s Holiday Park and Hyde Park’s South Pole.

Krug’s Holiday Park lighting ceremony begins at 6 p.m. followed by Hyde’s South Pole lighting at 6:30 p.m.

The city will provide light refreshments during both ceremonies at Krug’s lagoon circle and Hyde Park’s gazebo.

Those who attend the South Pole lighting ceremony can also expect a special appearance from Santa.

For more information about the annual lighting ceremonies, call 816-271-5300.
