Council considering Thompson for interim city manager

By Cameron Montemayor

St. Joseph is eyeing Clint Thompson as interim city manager following the announced resignation of Bryan Carter effective Sept. 6.

Monday’s city council agenda includes a first reading for an ordinance to appoint Thompson as interim city manager until an employment contract with a new city manager becomes effective.

A formal vote by St. Joseph City Council is likely to take place at the following council meeting on Sept. 2.

Thompson was first hired as the city’s community development manager in 1998 and has served as director of the planning and community development department since 2001.

Thompson declined to comment at this time until the ordinance is voted on.
