A Lincoln man has been jailed following a stabbing late Monday afternoon at the People’s City Mission west of downtown.

Lincoln Police spokeswoman Erika Thomas said officers were called to 110 Q St. at about 5:40 p.m. where they found a 34-year-old man with a puncture wound to his upper chest.

He was taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment for what was described as a non-life threatening injury.

Police arrested Steven Shiffermiller, 38, on suspicion of second-degree assault, use of a deadly weapon and terroristic threats. He hasn’t yet been charged.

Thomas said Shiffermiller was yelling at the victim that he would kill him and then stabbed him in the chest with a metal tire reamer, a tool with a sharp metal end used to fix a flat tire.
