Mason City man in jail on meth, firearms charges

A Mason City man was arrested Friday after officers found a quarter pound of methamphetamine and a loaded handgun in his home during a search warrant, according to Cerro Gordo County District Court documents.

Brent Terry Weisbrod, 44, is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on $35,000 bond on a class B felony charge of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and class D felony charges of failure to affix a drug tax stamp and dominion/control of a firearm as a convicted felon.

The Iowa State Patrol filed the charges.

The search warrant was executed in the 1300 block of North Federal Avenue.

Weisbrod’s initial court appearance was held Monday morning. A preliminary court hearing is scheduled for Jan. 7.
