WATERLOO — Police detained a man who was allegedly carrying several weapons while drunk early Sunday.
Officers noticed 49-year-old Wes William Weisse walking down the middle of the street in the 100 block of East Fourth Street carrying a speaker that was playing loud music and toting a sword, crossbow and knives around 2:30 a.m.
Passing vehicles were veering into the other lane to avoid hitting him, according to police.
He was having trouble walking, and police noticed the odor of alcohol. Weisse declined to take a breath test.
He was arrested for public intoxication, disorderly conduct and carrying weapons while intoxicated.
The arrest came just two weeks after Weisse was arrested on Dec. 13 for walking down the middle of the street at West Fourth and Jefferson wearing military clothing and carrying knives and a speaker at 2:20 a.m. In that case, he allegedly raised his hand holding a knife when the officer approached him, according to court records.
