Each charge is a Class X felony under Illinois law that carries a prison sentence of six to 30 years. Additionally, the manufacturing child pornography charge also carries a mandatory fine of between $2,000 and $100,000.
According to a news release issued by the Illinois State Police, on June 18, agents with the Illinois Division of Criminal Investigation served a search warrant in connection with an ongoing investigation into the dissemination of child sexual abuse images.
During the next several months, agents were able to identify Miller as a suspect in that investigation.
On Dec. 21, agents arrested Miller near the 4000 block of 11th Avenue in Moline.
During Miller’s first court appearance on the charges held Dec. 23, Rock Island County Associate Circuit Judge Clayton Lee scheduled a preliminary hearing for Dec. 31. Lee also denied Miller pretrial release.
Miller was being held without bond Friday night in the Rock Island County Jail.
