By Nicole Scott – St. Joseph News-Press, Mo. (TNS)

Dec. 29—The Missouri Department of Transportation announced a few road work projects for several Northwest Missouri counties on Friday afternoon, including Atchison and Nodaway counties.

MoDOT shared the planned roadwork for the week of Monday, Dec. 30, 2024 through Sunday, Jan. 5, 2025 and stated that the department will limit road construction for the New Year’s holiday.

MoDOT crews plan to suspend operations at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024 and will resume construction at 6 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025.

In Atchison County, Missouri, U.S. Route 59 is having potholes repaired from Route 46 to the Iowa state line from Dec. 30 through Jan. 3.

In Nodaway County, Missouri — Route NN will be closed until further notice at the Platte River Bridge just west of Parnell due to how unstable the bridge is.

The Platte River Bridge is scheduled to be repaired through the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program.
