Three people killed in Worth County crash on I-35 Saturday morning

Three people were killed and three injured in a head-on collision shortly before 9 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 35 one mile north of Iowa Highway 9 in Worth County.

A Volkswagen EOS headed south in the southbound lane crossed the median and continued south in the northbound lane, colliding with a Chevy Silverado traveling north, according to a report from the Iowa State Patrol.

The names and ages of those killed or injured have not been released.

Forest City Ambulance, Northwood First Responders and Ambulance, the Iowa Department of Transportation, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, the Worth County Sheriff’s Office, and the Fertile and Hanlontown fire departments assisted the Iowa State Patrol at the scene.
