Here are 10 ways to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Quad-Cities

As the new year approaches, so do new festivities. Check out some Quad-Cities theaters, bars and businesses with New Year’s Eve celebrations below.
Bettendorf:
Noon Year’s Eve
* Where: Family Museum, 2900 Learning Campus Drive
* When: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
* Cost: $10 for members, $15 for non-members
* What’s happening: Kids count down to noon for a balloon drop. The museum will feature celebratory crafts in addition to the usual exhibit.
New Year’s Eve Ugly Sweater Party
* Where: The Q, 905 Middle Rd.
* When: 6 p.m. until close
* Cost: Free
* What’s happening: Not to be mistaken for a Christmas sweater party – The Q in Bettendorf will be hosting a down-right ugly sweater New Year’s Eve bash. The two ugliest sweaters will earn a prize from The Q.
Davenport:
Rowdy ‘Twilight’ screening at Last Picture House
* Where: The Last Picture House, 325 East 2nd St.
* When: 9 p.m.
* Cost: $15 per ticket
* What’s happening: Fans can laugh, cheer, hoot and holler as the first Twilight film plays on screen. The movie ends at 11:15 p.m. After the credits roll, viewers are invited to celebrate the new year in the Last Picture House lounge.
New Year’s Eve at the Downtown Lounge
* Where: Downtown Lounge, 318 East 2nd St.
* When: 8 p.m.
* Cost: Free
* What’s happening: Customers will earn a free prosecco toast with the purchase of any cocktail at The Mississippi River Distilling Company’s Downtown Lounge. The bar will show the Times Square Ball drop on the big screen and also hold their own balloon drop at midnight.
Bass Banger: The Finale!
* Where: Capital Theatre, 330 W 3rd St.
* When: Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
* Cost: Tickets begin at $25
* What’s happening: Dance into 2025 with performances by The Tripp Brothers, NJN, Kill OG, The Perrys and Dr. Dubb. The night also includes sets by HerShe, an award-winning artist who blends beatboxing, rapping and DJing. HerShe previously won the American Beatbox Championships and landed fifth place at the Beatboxing World Championships in Berlin. This event is limited to those 21 and older.
New Year’s Eve Bash with Electric Shock and Cheese Pizza
* Where: Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, 2815 W Locust St.
* When: Doors open at 6 p.m.
* Cost: Free, but fans can reserve VIP tables for $100 at the fair box office.
* What’s happening: The AC/DC tribute band Electric Shock and the retro icons Cheese Pizza will return to the Quad Cities this New Year’s Eve. Arely’s Food Truck, Smokin’ Butt BBQ and more vendors will serve food and drinks through the evening.
Moline & East Moline:
New Year’s Eve with Molly Durnin
* Where: Whiskey Stop, 726 15th Ave., East Moline
* When: 8:30 until close
* Cost: Free
* What’s happening: Whiskey Stop will celebrate the new year with an Italian buffet and a performance by the singing guitarist Molly Durnin. Customers earn a complimentary champagne glass at midnight, and have the opportunity to partake in a Best Dressed contest to win the prize lineup worth over $500.
New Year’s Eve Celebration at Skate City
* Where: Skate City QCA & Laser Tag Alley, 1140 Avenue of the Cities, East Moline
* When: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
* Cost: $15
* What’s happening: Families with young children and early-risers will appreciate the early celebrations at this skate rink. The skate park will feature a Noon Year’s Eve balloon drop for children 10 and under. By 2 p.m., activities will open for all ages. At 5 p.m., there will be a second balloon drop, with hats, horns and leis to celebrate.
Rock Island:
‘It’s About Time’ Burlesque Show
* Where: Circa `21 Speakeasy, 1828 3rd Ave
* When: Doors open at 9 p.m., show begins at 10 p.m.
* Cost: Tickets are $35 in advance, $40 on the day of the show
* What’s happening: The Quad-Cities burlesque troupe Dark Desires Burlesque will premiere a never-before-seen show. Viewers will receive a complimentary champagne glass at midnight. This performance is for viewers 18 and older.
Pajama Jammy Jam New Year’s Eve Bash
* Where: Radicle Effect Brewerks, 1340 31st St.
* When: 10 p.m. to 1 a.m
* Cost: Free
* What’s happening: For those looking for a comfortable way to ring in the near year, Radicle Effect Brewerks is hosting a pajama-themed bash. The party features disco music and a snack bar serving until close. Festivities include a contest for the best disco-themed pajamas at 11:15 p.m., an espresso martini cocktail feature and a midnight champagne toast.
