CEDAR FALLS — A Denver caregiver has been arrested for allegedly using her Cedar Falls clients’ credit cards for personal expenses.

Cedar Falls police arrested Rachael Lynn Nicklaus, 38, on Dec. 20 for three counts of felony dependent adult abuse, two counts each of identity theft and credit card fraud and one count of misdemeanor fourth-degree theft from an older individual. She was released pending trial.

Court records allege she used one client’s credit card eight times in March and April for a total of $532. A second patient’s credit card was used nine times for a total of $138 during the same time frame.

She allegedly accompanied a third client to the bank in March and had him close his account. She allegedly took most of the money – about $480 – according to court records.

The matter was reported to police in July 2024.
