University of Northern Iowa celebrates 700 graduates at 2024 fall commencement

CEDAR FALLS — Nearly 700 students celebrated their achievements Saturday as the University of Northern Iowa hosted its fall 2024 commencement at the McLeod Center.
According to a news release, there were a total of 664 graduating, including 570 undergraduates and 94 graduate students. Of those, 609 were resident students from 80 of Iowa’s counties and 55 were nonresident students from 14 states and nine countries. Undergraduate students in this graduating class have an average cumulative UNI grade point average of 3.39, with 13.7% – or 78 – graduating with multiple majors.
There were 212 first-generation college students and 25 military veterans among the graduates.
Of the total, 210 are College of Humanities, Arts & Sciences students, 147 are College of Education students, 146 are College of Social & Behavioral Sciences students, 123 are Wilson College of Business students, and 38 are interdisciplinary students.
