State and local Democratic candidates gathered at the Pony Express Museum on Wednesday evening to speak ahead of the Nov. 5 Election Day.

The Missouri House minority leader and candidate for Missouri governor will be in attendance.

Lieutenant governor candidate Richard Brown, secretary of state candidate Barbara Phifer, state treasurer candidate Mark Osmack and attorney general candidate Elad Gross were in attendance.

When asked why it was important for candidates to visit St. Joseph, Lieutenant Governor candidate, Richard Brown said the area is really important to recognize this election season.

“St. Joseph is very important because not only are you an urban area, but you’re also a rural area,” said Brown. “I supported the farmers in this area in the past against the Grain Belt Express.”

County Commissioner Ron Hook and Circuit Court Judge for the Fifth Judicial Circuit Court (Division 4) of Missouri Daniel F. Kellogg were also in attendance.
