Democrats plan St. Joseph rally on Oct. 23

Statewide candidates for office will headline a Democratic Party rally on Wednesday, Oct. 23, in St. Joseph.

Crystal Quade, the party’s nominee for governor, will appear along with other Democratic state and Northwest Missouri area candidates at the Pony Express Museum, 914 Penn St. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and speakers will begin at 6. The event is open to the public.

Other candidates planning to be at the event include lieutenant governor candidate Richard Brown; secretary of state candidate Barbara Phifer; state treasurer candidate Mark Osmack; and attorney general candidate Elad Gross.

Pam May, who is running as a candidate for Missouri’s Sixth Congressional District, along with Missouri House District 10 candidate Andrew Gibson, House District 13 candidate Andrea Denning and House District 14 candidate Ashley Aune also will speak.

Buchanan County Western District Commissioner Ron Hook, who is seeking re-election, and Daniel Kellogg, Circuit Court Judge for the Fifth Judicial Circuit Court, Division 4, will attend as well.

The rally is hosted by the Buchanan County Democratic Central Committee, Buchanan County Women’s Democratic Club, St. Joseph EM-PAC, Environmental Eco-Justice of St. Joseph, Persisterhood — St. Joseph, and the United Democratic Club of Northwest Missouri.
