Democratic Senate candidate hosts rally in St. Joseph

Lucas Kunce, a Democratic candidate for the United States Senate, visited St. Joseph on Tuesday to share about his campaign.
Having grown up in mid-Missouri with four siblings Kunce says he wants to help Missouri regain it’s strength.
“I want to fundamentally change who has power in the country and bring money back to our state,” said Kince. “You know, I grew up in this beautiful working class neighborhood, where my parents were bankrupted by medical bills when my sister had to have surgeries and just… the people in that neighborhood, you know, they showed the strength we have here in Missouri.”
When asked why people should vote for him, Kunce responded by saying that he wants to do more for Missourians.
“If you want to fundamentally change who has power in this country, if you want to make your own decisions about your own life, I’m the only guy who’s gonna do that for you,” said Kunce. “You know, Josh Hawley, the guy I’m running against, he brings zero dollars back to our state every year, he doesn’t invest in us, he just wants to control us for his own power…this isn’t a Republican or Democrat thing…Roy Blunt used to bring back 300 million dollars back a year to the state, Josh Hawley’s is zero.”
Kunce continued his answer by saying he will advocate for Missouri.
“I’m going to invest in this state, I’m gonna take care of you (Missourians) and I’m going to do everything I can to fundamentally change power in this country, so you can make your own decisions in life,” Kunce said.
Kunce is a Missouri native who completed his undergraduate degree at Yale and attended law school at the University of Missouri.
Kunce later joined the Marine Corps, which led him to many job opportunities in politics, like being on the Joint Staff at the Pentagon.
After 13 years of active duty and 17 years overall in the military, Kunce became a part of the American Economic Liberties Project.
Now, Kunce is campaigning around Missouri for a seat in the U.S. Senate.
