Buchanan County Republican Party opens headquarters

As election season ramps up, the Buchanan County Republican Party welcomed local candidates and residents to its new election headquarters on Saturday.
Visitors enjoyed ice cream during the grand opening at 1307 Village Dr. while speaking on issues in the upcoming election. The chairman of the Buchanan County Republican Central Committee said they have a grand opening each election year.
“We invite local candidates and state candidates to come,” Steven Greiert said. “And we invite all the people of Buchanan County and St. Joseph to come out and visit with them because they need to find out about issues with regard to different candidates and different positions.”
Signs representing state and local Republican representatives are given away at the headquarters as well.
“We had a nice day,” Greiert said. “We’re ready to get going in this general election. It’s going to be exciting.”
Missouri State Rep. Bill Falkner, Buchanan County Treasurer David Gall, and Terry White, recently selected to serve as the Division 3 circuit judge of the 5th Judicial Circuit, appeared at the grand opening among other Republican office holders in the county.
Spending time around other Republicans with varying experiences is beneficial for Everett Goddard Jr., who is vying for the role of Western District Commissioner in Buchanan County.
“They are going to help me as much as they can with my campaign, you know, they give me pointers on what I need to do and what direction I need to go,” Goddard Jr. said. “They’ve taken me under their wing, and I really appreciate it.”
Greiert said he plans for the Buchanan County Republican Party headquarters to be open from 10 a.m. to around 3 p.m.
“If you want to come out and talk to us, if you want to pick up some signs, if you want to discuss anything, we’re going to have open hours during the week,” he said.
