Filing is officially open; two candidates have filed for SJSD Board seats

As of Tuesday, the St. Joseph School District saw only two filings for school board.

One from a St. Joseph Pastor, Brian Kirk and the other from a Nurse Practitioner at the Samaritan Counseling Center, Cassandra Veale.

Filings have opened for two available positions on the St. Joseph School Board.

Both Isaura Garcia and Kim Miller’s terms will be up in April of 2025.

Anyone who wants to file for the St. Joseph School Board can visit the St. Joseph School District’s Board of Education office at 1415 N. 26th Street during its normal business hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Filings can also be made throughout December during normal business hours, Monday through Friday…With the exception of Dec. 23 starting at noon through Dec. 30.

The last day to file will be Dec. 31., when the district office is open from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Filing will not occur on days when the district offices are closed due to inclement weather, or due to an unforeseen event.
